Beta Experience: I've been in the Harry Potter fandom for over four years and have beta'd for authors on FictionAlley, Mugglenet, and various others.
Ratings I Will Beta Read : Restricted and under.
Categories I Will Beta Read: Action/Adventure, Angst, Drama, General, Humour, Mystery and Romance.
'Ships I Will Beta Read: Draco/Ginny, Draco/Hermione, James/Lily, Other Male/Female and Staff/Student.
Additional Ship Information: I absolutely adore Hermione/Severus, Draco/Hermione, Remus/Tonks, and anything involving the Black sisters.
Restrictions: Absolutely no Harry/Hermione, Luna/anyone, smut, or DarkFic. I read fanfiction for pleasure, and I can't say that I find suicide, rape, and self-mutilation to be terribly enjoyable.
I also do NOT beta fics where a school-age character is romantically involved with someone older. I don't care if the student is "of age"; I prefer romantic pairings where both are fully-fledged adults. I list Staff/Student in order to accomodate pairings (e.g. SS/HG) where the initial relationship was in that context.
Lengths Of Fanfiction I Will Beta Read: Under 5,000 words and 5,000 to 15,000 words.
My Strengths: Canon/Consistency, Characterisation, Grammar & Spelling, Plot, Point of View and Preventing Melodrama.
Additional Strength Information: While I can sympathize with your non-canon pairing, I am a stickler for keeping characters "in character," or at least a reasonable extrapolation of their canon counterpart. While love can certainly make people crazy, it's my experience that spouting baby talk is more indicative of poor writing than it is thoughtful characterization.
